Daily Feature: How They Fared

While each remaining Indiana commit won their respective playoff games last weekend, a de-commitment from one of the class's top players took away from some of the excitement.

Every week AllHoosiers.com’s Ben Faunce has a weekly feature looking back at how Indiana’s football commits in the class of 2015 fared the week before.

Success of Hoosier commits on the field was overshadowed by the loss of a top recruit this week.

Tommy Stevens of Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central announced his de-commitment from Indiana via Twitter on Monday, and he has decided to play college football for Penn State. The loss is a huge blow for coach Kevin Wilson and the Indiana football program, and Wilson will have to look a new future signal caller.

Nick Westbrook racked up 211 receiving yards and two touchdowns on only five receptions as Lake Mary (Fla.) won 30-20 over Oviedo on senior night. Westbrook finished his final high school regular season with 67 receptions for 1,464 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 21.9 yards per reception. For his career, Westbrook has 119 receptions for 2,290 yards and 29 touchdowns. After finishing the season undefeated, Lake Mary will host Flagler Palm Coast in the first round of the Florida High School Football Playoffs.

Austin Dorris scored all four Shadyside (Ohio) touchdowns in a 27-24 playoff victory over Danville. Dorris finished with 216 yards on the ground, which included a 65-yard touchdown on the first play of the second half, tying the game at 14. Dorris has led Shadyside to a 10-0 record on the season, and they will take on Bainbridge Paint Valley in the Ohio Division VII Region 25 semifinals on Saturday.

Leon Thornton recorded six receptions for 81 yards, which was enough to help Montini (Ill.) secure a 27-13 win over Joliet Catholic. Montini moves to the quarterfinals of the IHSA Football Playoffs, where they will play against conference rival Marian Central Catholic. Thornton now has 47 receptions for 669 yards and nine touchdowns in his senior season.

Hunter Littlejohn led an offensive line that produced 318 total yards for Powell (Ohio) Olentangy Liberty in a 49-21 win over Whitmer. Olentangy Liberty will take on St. Edward in the regional semifinals this weekend.
