IU only commits 4 turnovers in 94-66 victory

James Blackmon Jr. had 18 points and Troy Williams added 14 as the Hoosiers improved to 8-2 and will now head into finals week. The Hoosiers are off for seven days before returning to play next Saturday against Butler at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Indiana headed into finals week with not much of a test on Saturday night at Assembly Hall.

James Blackmon Jr. had 18 points, Troy Williams had 14 and Hanner Mosquera-Perea added 11 as Indiana had an easy time with Grand Canyon, 94-66.

The Hoosiers (8-2) only committed four turnovers the entire game. Their previous season-low had been seven against SMU.

Indiana also had a 52-35 edge on the boards against a smaller Grand Canyon team. The Hoosiers had 21 offensive rebounds. The Antelopes fell to 4-6 with the loss.

Blackmon shot 7-of-14 from the field but just 1-of-5 from 3-point range. In his last two games, the freshman guard is 2-of-13 from 3-point range.

Indiana led 42-31 at the half but pulled away quickly in the second half. The lead was up to 19 at 54-35 with 17:13 to play after Williams scored on a drive to the basket. The Hoosiers led by 20 or more for the final 13 minutes plus.

Along with the three players in double figures, IU also got good scoring from Nick Zeisloft with nine and Stanford Robinson and Yogi Ferrell with eight points each. Robert Johnson had seven.

Indiana is now off for final week next week and returns to the court next Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse when it faces Butler.
