Majette becomes IU's 4th commit of weekend

Mike Majette de-committed from Maryland last week and Sunday night gave his commitment to IU coach Kevin Wilson to play football for the Hoosiers. The ATH/DB is IU's 14th commit in the class of 2015.

A big weekend for Indiana football continued Sunday night when Mike Majette announced via Twitter that he had told Kevin Wilson he would play football for the Hoosiers.

Majette had originally committed to Maryland but last week rumors began circulating that he was planning to take an official visit to IU. On Dec. 8, Majette announced he had de-committed from Maryland.

Majette played quarterback in high school but is projected as a defensive back in college.

He chose IU over a list of schools that also included Maryland, Purdue, Louisville and Boston College.

He becomes IU’s 14th commitment in the class and fourth player to commit since Saturday night. He joins wide receiver Issac James from Carmel, Ind., OT DeVondre Love from St. Louis and S Tyler Green from Hyattsville, Md. Green was formerly an Ohio State commit.
