QB Austin King commits to Indiana

Indiana picked up a much-needed quarterback commitment Monday when Alpharetta (Ga.) QB Austin King committed to Kevin Wilson and the Hoosiers.

Make that five Indiana football commitments in the last two days.

Austin King, a pro style quarterback from Alpharetta (Ga.) High School, announced via Twitter today that he will attend Indiana.

He joins Mike Majette, an athlete from Woodbridge, Va., as commits who have announced their decisions to attend IU today.

Three others: WR Isaac James from Carmel, Ind., OT DeVondre Love from St. Louis, Mo., and Tyler Green from Hyattsville, Md. committed to Indiana over the weekend.

Obviously a high level quarterback is exactly what IU coach Kevin Wilson and his staff needed with Nate Sudfeld approaching his senior season and uncertainty involving how freshman Zander Diamont fits into the IU plan moving forward. Diamont replaced Sudfeld this season midway through the year after the junior quarterback suffered a season-ending shoulder injury against Iowa.
