Could Indiana land another elite shooter in 2015?
That's a distinct possibility after guard Bruce Brown told reporters over the weekend that there's a good chance he will reclassify from 2016 to 2015.
Brown, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Vermont, is the 52nd-ranked player in his current 2016 class. The Hoosiers are among the favorites to land him, but it's unclear if reclassifying would help or hurt Indiana's chances. Indiana is already oversigned by two for next year and is still in the mix for several other 2015 prospects.
Brown told reporters this weekend that Indiana, UCONN, UCLA, Boston College and Michigan are among his favorite schools from which he has offers. Louisville has also gotten into the mix lately, but has not offered.
Maker to reclassify?
Ed Smith, the guardian of star center Thon Maker, told Scout.com this weekend that Maker will most likely reclassify to the 2015 class. Indiana is recruiting both Thon and his little brother, Matur. Smith told Scout.com that Indiana would be among the many schools they'd like to visit if Maker opts to go the college route and not play professionally overseas, which is also an option at this point.
Maker is currently the top player in the 2016 class. He would likely jump to the top of the list in 2015, too, if and when he officially reclassifies. Maker also has offers from Kentucky, Kansas, and many others.
