Jameel Cook flips from Maryland to Indiana

Indiana's commit list is up to 22 overall (including the two college transfers) after Jameel Cook announced on Twitter Sunday that he has committed to play football at IU. He originally had committed to play at Maryland.

Indiana has picked up its second flip from the University of Maryland in the 2015 recruiting class.

Safety Jameel Cook, from Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point High School, announced on Twitter today that he had flipped to Indiana.

Cook becomes the 20th commit in Kevin Wilson’s IU football class of 2015. When you add the two transfers from UAB, IU’s list is up to 22 players.

The Hoosiers can sign up to 25 on signing day which is this Wednesday, Feb. 4.

In his Tweet, Cook said “When something is right it just feels right and Bloomington is right for me!’’

Cook was in Bloomington this weekend making an official visit. When Maryland learned he was visiting IU, it removed him from its commit list.

The other commit who flipped from Maryland was cornerback Mike Majette from Woodbridge (Va.) High School. Majette committed on Dec. 18.

Indiana is loading up on safeties in this class. Tyler Green, Andre Brown and Jonathan Crawford are also safeties who have committed to the Hoosiers.
