How much time will Blackmon miss?

Indiana freshman James Blackmon Jr. missed Tuesday night's game at Wisconsin with an ankle injury. How long will he be out?

Indiana freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. missed Tuesday night's 92-78 loss to No. 5 Wisconsin in Madison due to an ankle injury he suffered in Saturday's win over Rutgers.

Blackmon returned and play the rest of the game against Rutgers, but didn't practice Sunday or Monday. Indiana coach Tom Crean said Blackmon tried to give it a go before the game, but was unable to. Nick Zeisloft started in his place and led Indiana with 17 points.

It was the first game Blackmon hasn't started this season.

"He tried to go on our walkthrough today and then he tried to go before the game, but it just wasn’t there with his ankle," Crean said after the game. "We don't play until Sunday, so I hope he's back. He was able to finish the game Saturday, but it just got a little worse. It just got a little worse than night into the last morning.

"I'm proud of him. He really wanted to play. Just couldn't do it. Just couldn't put that pressure down. It's a long season, and we would have liked to have him. But the bottom line is, he wasn't available, so we moved on. Hopefully he'll continue to heal at a good rate so he's ready for our next one." Top Stories
