Edwards, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from East Chicago, is having a big high school season. Last weekend, he scored 44 points in a game on Friday night, then followed it with a 47-point outburst on Saturday night.
Edwards owns offers from California, Indiana, Illinois and Purdue, but he listed only Cal and Tennessee as the schools pursuing him hardest in the summer. He told me over the summer that his contact with Indiana had disappeared almost altogether.
Things have changed. Sources told Justin Albers on Wednesday that Indiana coach Tom Crean plans to watch Edwards play soon, and Edwards is high on the Hoosiers.
"I love IU," Edwards told AllHoosiers.com. "They are one of my top schools. I know a lot of people will love to see me at Indiana."
"Well, would love," he said.
Indiana is also high on 2015 guard Davon Dillard, a friend of Edwards. Dillard, a 6-foot-5 G/F from Gary, Ind., listed Indiana among his top five schools, along with Creighton, Purdue, Pittsburgh and California. Crean will watch both Dillard and then 2016 guard Rawle Alkins tonight.
