Jordan Fuchs added to IU hoop roster

IU football freshman tight end Jordan Fuchs, who was heavily recruited to play basketball in college, too, has been added to the Indiana men's basketball roster and will be in uniform tonight for the Hoosiers when they travel to Maryland.

Indiana has picked up a new men’s basketball player just in time for tonight’s game at Maryland.

Jordan Fuchs, a tight end on the IU football team, has been added to the IU roster and will be with the team tonight. A 6-6, 230-pound forward, Fuchs had several college basketball offers out of high school including Iowa State, SMU and Florida.

While in high school, playing at Milford Academy, he played against Noah Vonleh’s prep school team.

“Jordan is someone we've been aware of for some time now and had he not gotten injured in the Purdue game and had to recover from that we would have brought over to evaluate earlier,’’ said IU coach Tom Crean. “We worked with him since last week and with Coach Wilson's blessing we are adding Jordan at this time. He has considerable basketball experience and brings size, athleticism, toughness and a tremendous competitive attitude.’’

Fuchs played in all 12 games for Indiana football as a true freshman last season. He caught three passes for 31 yards and one touchdown. He will wear No. 20 on the IU basketball team. Top Stories
