IU baseball pounds Ball State, 16-1

Jake Kelzer went seven innings of scoreless baseball and allowed just one hit and 14 different IU players got at least one hit Sunday in a convincing 16-1 victory over Ball State in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Indiana baseball put an exclamation point on its four-game appearance in the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. on Sunday morning with a dominating performance against Ball State.

Indiana (8-4) had 14 players with at least one hit and 17 hits overall in a commanding 16-1 victory over Ball State.

The Hoosiers have now won five games in a row overall.

The Hoosiers also had 10 players with at least one RBI in the game.

Jake Kelzer went seven innings of scoreless baseball to get the win for IU. He only allowed one hit and struck out four.

Indiana returns to Bloomington and will have its home opener on Tuesday against Eastern Michigan at Bart Kaufman Field.

That will be the first game of a six-game home stand that will lead into Big Ten play against Penn State.
