Indiana assistant coach Steve McClain will be named the next head coach at the University of Illinois-Chicago on Monday, sources confirmed to AllHoosiers.com on Saturday afternoon. There will be a formal introduction on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
McClain coached on Tom Crean's staff for five years at Indiana and previously served as the head coach at Wyoming, where he compiled a record of 157-115. McClain was instrumental in getting recruits Juwan Morgan and O.G. Anunoby to commit in the 2015 class.
Indiana's season ended on Friday afternoon with an 81-76 loss to Wichita State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
