Bryant impresses in front of ESPNU audience

Indiana recruiting target Thomas Bryant posted some impressive numbers on Thursday afternoon. Get the complete story here.

Thomas Bryant looked a little overwhelmed in Wednesday night's McDonald's All-American game, but he made Indiana fans salivate with his performance on Thursday afternoon.

Bryant, a 2015 center, exploded for 27 points and 19 rebounds in Huntington Prep's 73-70 win over Wheeler (Ga.) on Thursday afternoon. The game was shown on ESPNU. Bryant and Huntington Prep advance to the semifinals of the Dick's Sporting Goods national tournament at 5 p.m. Friday. That game will be televised on ESPN2.

Bryant, 6-foot-10 and a four-star prospect, showed off a well-rounded game in Thursday's win. He controlled the post on both ends, blocked three shots, and even stepped out to knock down a couple of 3-pointers.

Sources told that Indiana has emerged as a "heavy favorite" to land Bryant, who also has interest in Missouri, Kentucky and Syracuse. Bryant told the Louisville Courier-Journal earlier this week that he hasn't heard from Kentucky and Syracuse since January, so it appears to be down to a two-school race.

If Indiana secures a commitment from Bryant, the Hoosiers become a likely preseason top-15 team and a legitimate contender in the Big Ten. He would mean that much.
