Indiana offers 2016 G Tony Carr

The Hoosiers extended a scholarship to Team Final's Tony Carr on Saturday.

Friday marked the start of the first open evaluation period of the year for college coaches, and Indiana wasted little time hitting the recruiting trail. Tom Crean, Chuck Martin and Steve Buckley opened the weekend in Dallas for the addias Gauntlet event on Friday, watching a number of prospects. Among them: 2016 guard Rawle Alkins, 2016 forward Braxton Blackwell, 2016 guard Eron Gordon, 2016 forward De'Ron Davis and 2017 forward Jaren Jackson.

All three coaches moved to Hampton, Va. for the Boo Williams Nike EYBL event on Saturday. While there, Crean offered a scholarship to 2016 guard Tony Carr, who plays for Team Final out of Philadelphia. Carr, a 6-foot-3 guard, is a four-star prospect and the 57th-ranked player in his class. He also has offers from Penn State, George Washington, La Salle, Maryland and Temple.

**Alkins had 37 points and 8 rebounds in Saturday night's win over Blackwell and the Atlanta Celtics. Blackwell had only five points.

**Jackson hasn't yet been 100 percent in Dallas as he continues to recover from a foot injury. His Indiana Elite team narrowly missed the final four of the Dallas event after a 56-55 overtime loss in the quarterfinals on Saturday night. Top Stories
