Indiana to host Creighton in Gavitt Games

Indiana will host Creighton at Assembly Hall next season as part of the new Gavitt Games.

Indiana will host Creighton next season as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games, has confirmed. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports was the first to report the news on Monday.

Each season from 2015 to 2022, the Gavitt Tipoff Games will showcase four home games for each Big Ten and Big East school on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the college basketball season’s first full week. Unlike the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, though, it doesn't appear the Gavitt Games will match teams up based on the teams they'll bring into the season.

Creighton, led by coach Greg McDermott, finished just 14-19 last season after losing McDermott's son, Doug, to the NBA. Indiana is expected to be ranked in the preseason, perhaps even in the top 15 if guard Yogi Ferrell decides to return to school.

The Hoosiers will also play in next year's Maui Invitational with Kansas, St. John's, UCLA, UNLV, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Top Stories
