Indiana moved up slightly in the Big Ten baseball standings Friday night with its 6-1 victory over Michigan State.

The Hoosiers at 6-8 in the conference are now in the eighth place spot in the Big Ten, a half game ahead of Minnesota. The Gophers’ game with Michigan was postponed to part of a doubleheader today.

Why is this significant? The top eight teams in the conference qualify for Big Ten Tournament. There are still eight games to play, weather permitting, but several teams continue to lose games because of rain outs.
