IU falls to Evansville again, 8-4

Indiana lost to Evansville for the second time in two weeks, falling 8-4 on the road Tuesday night. The Hoosiers are back in action Wednesday at home against Indiana State at 6:05 p.m.

Indiana is 0-2 against Evansville this season.

Two weeks after dropping a 14-inning decision to Evansville at home, Indiana dropped an 8-4 loss to the Purple Aces on Tuesday night in Evansville.

Indiana is now 23-18 overall and will play a second mid-week game Wednesday when it plays host to Indiana State at Bart Kaufman Field.

IU actually outhit Evansville 11-8 on Tuesday but this time IU’s pitching let the Hoosiers down. Six of Evansville’s eight runs came because of walks or hit batters.

Casey Rodrigue had three hits for the Hoosiers, while Craig Dedelow and Brad Hartong had two hits each.

Christian Morris suffered the loss, his first of the season for Indiana.
