What a difference two games makes with a college baseball team.
Indiana limped into its weekend series at Maryland as the ninth place team in the Big Ten with six conference games to go, knowing it likely needed to win at least one game against the red shot Terrapins.
Only the top eight teams in the conference ultimately qualify for the Big Ten Tournament.
Maryland entered the weekend in fourth with an 11-4 record while IU sat back at 6-10.
But now, heading into today’s series finale at 11 a.m. ET that will be televised on the Big Ten Network, the Hoosiers have already taken the series by winning the first two games and will be out for the sweep.
And just like that, IU has moved up to seventh in the Big Ten standings.
Here’s a look at the conference baseball standings headed into Sunday’s play.
