Indiana gets a break from Big Ten competition this weekend when it plays host to Long Beach State in a three-game series at Bart Kaufman Field.
The Hoosiers (26-19) have moved up to seventh in the conference standings following a three-game sweep over nationally-ranked Maryland last weekend in College Park, Md.
IU will resume Big Ten play next weekend when it hosts Ohio State for a three-game series beginning on Thursday.
Long Beach State (24-20) is coming off a three-game series against Hawaii where the Dirtbags were swept. Last season, Long Beach State had two walk-off wins against Indiana in a 2-1 series victory in Long Beach, Calif.
Jake Kelzer will take the mound for Indiana on Friday when it plays host to Long Beach State at 6:05 p.m. Kyle Hart will get the start on Saturday in a 4:05 p.m. first pitch and Caleb Baragar will start for the Hoosiers on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
There’s a good chance Saturday’s game could be moved because of weather that is expected to be in the Bloomington area.
