Bielfeldt waiting on Bulls, Hoiberg

Michigan transfer Max Bielfeldt will wait to see what happens with the Bulls coaching vacancy before announcing a decision. Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg is a strong candidate for the job.

Michigan grad transfer Max Bielfeldt has delayed his announcement once again. Bielfeldt told on Thursday that he wants to wait to see what happens with the Chicago Bulls' coaching vacancy, for which Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg is a strong candidate.

The Bulls parted ways with coach Tom Thibodeau on Thursday.

If Hoiberg becomes the next head coach in Chicago, Indiana is the heavy favorite to land Bielfeldt, a 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Wolverines last season. But if Hoiberg returns to Iowa City, expect Bielfeldt to become a Cyclone.

Nebraska is also among Bielfeldt's final three schools. He visited all three. Top Stories
