Davis, who graduated from Warren Central in Indianapolis, was dismissed from the Indiana program in May after he was cited for possession of marijuana. He missed all of last season after being struck by a car driven by teammate Emmitt Holt on Nov. 1, 2014. Davis suffered a traumatic brain injury in the accident and spent weeks in the hospital.
The JUCO route makes sense for Davis because it will give him the chance to show Division 1 schools that he can still play after recovering from such a serious injury. Few schools wanted to take a chance on him now because they haven't seen him play in more than 12 months.
