Indiana defensive back Antonio Allen was arrested on drug charges Tuesday night, including heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. AllHoosiers.com independently confirmed the news, which was first reported by Jeff Rabjohns of Peegs.com. Allen is being charged with dealing heroin, cocaine and meth, as well as several possession charges.
Indiana released a statement on Tuesday night announcing that Allen is immediately suspended from all team activities.
“Indiana University Athletics and the IU football program are aware of the arrest of junior defensive back Antonio Allen. Allen has been suspended from all football activities effective immediately," the statement reads. "We will continue to gather facts, monitor the legal process, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants."
The full list of felony charges that Allen faces:
**Dealing in a narcotic drug manufacture/deliver/finance five and 10 grams;
**Dealing in methamphetamine one and five grams;
**Dealing in methamphetamine manufacture/deliver/finance five and 10 grams.
**Level 2 charge for dealing in heroin of more than 10 grams. This charge also involved a firearm.
Allen, a rising junior, was a four-star recruit in the 2013 class out of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. He had 74 tackles, two interceptions and a sack as a sophomore last season.
Allen is currently being held at Monroe County Jail on $75,000 bond.
