Flakes becomes IU's third football commit

Tyus Flakes joins Peyton Ramsey and Ryan Smith as the third member of Indiana's recruiting class of 2016.

Indiana has dipped into the South once again to pick up a football commit.

Tyus Flakes, a 5-9, 177-pound running back from Auburn (Ala.) High School, is Indiana’s third commit in the current class.

Flakes joins QB Peyton Ramsey and DT Ryan Smith as IU’s third commit and the second one in less than a week. Smith committed on June 9.

On Indiana’s 2014 roster, it had 21 players from either Florida or Georgia, three from Texas and two from Louisiana.

Here is a story on Flakes’ decision from Scout.com’s John Garcia Jr.
