Kennesaw State forward Yonel Brown led all scorers with 26 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field. IU forward Troy Williams and center Thomas Bryant led IU with 20 points each, a career high for Bryant and three shy of Williams' career-high.
The Owls effectively utilized their flex-motion offense to get plenty of looks near the basket, finishing with 24 points in the paint in the first half as Indiana led just 46-38 at halftime. With 17:06 left in the second half, Kennesaw State had cut the IU lead to six before Owls head coach received a technical foul. The Hoosiers took advantage and outscored the Owls 51-30 the rest of the way.
Freshman forward Juwan Morgan certainly makes a case, having played his first meaningful minutes since IU's game against UNLV in the Maui Invitational. When he checked into the game, IU outscored Kennesaw State 50-30 and had improved communication on defense. Morgan finished with 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal.
Thomas Bryant finished with a career-high 20 points to go along with 5 rebounds in 26 minutes starting at center. O.G. Anunoby had 5 points and 2 rebounds in 8 minutes off the bench. Juwan Morgan had 2 points and 2 rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench.
