Indiana picked up its fourth commitment in the 2016 class on Saturday when Long Island guard Devonte Green announced he would be a Hoosier.
Green, the younger brother of San Antonio Spurs' guard Danny Green, is a 6-foot-1 combo guard. He's rated as a 3-star prospect, but I watched him quite a bit on the adidas circuit, and I've always thought he was underrated.
Green played on the same AAU team with 5-star prospects Rawle Alkins and Mustapha Heron, so he flew under the radar a little bit. But he's a typical Tom Crean recruit, one in the same mold as guys like Victor Oladipo, Will Sheehey and OG Anunoby. Fans will likely question his commitment early, but I think fans will like him before he's done playing in Bloomington.
Green always plays hard, he's skilled, and the fact he's been overshadowed by better players in high school -- much like Oladipo was -- will likely leave a chip on his shoulder that will contribute to his development.
Green joins Curtis Jones, De'Ron Davis and Grant Gelon in the 2016 class.
