Robert Johnson's ankle surgery successful

Indiana sophomore guard Robert Johnson underwent successful surgery on his left ankle on Friday.

Per the Indiana men's basketball Twitter account and his own personal Twitter account, IU sophomore guard Robert Johnson underwent successful surgery on his left ankle.

Against Kentucky in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Johnson re-aggravated a left ankle injury sustained in a win over Purdue on Feb. 20. The initial ankle injury caused him to miss the next four games, and overall he would miss five of Indiana's last seven games, including its season-ending loss to North Carolina in the Sweet 16. Johnson started in 22 of his 30 games played during his sophomore campaign, averaging 8.1 points and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 44.7 percent from 3-point range in nearly 25 minutes per contest.
