Indiana freshman center Thomas Bryant will return for his sophomore year, according to Scout Director of Basketball Recruiting Evan Daniels and multiple media reports. The IU program officially confirmed the news Thursday afternoon in a press release.
“Being a part of IU basketball is special and I’m excited to continue my development as a person and as a basketball player under Coach Crean,” Bryant said in a statement. “The bond I have with my teammates and coaches is strong. Our plan is to continue to work hard and build off of the many great things we did last year and add to the tradition here.”
The 6-foot-10 Bryant, projected by many to be a late first-round draft pick, averaged 11.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game this season en route to Big Ten All-Freshman team honors, setting the program record for single-season field goal percentage at 68.3 percent.
