2017 3-star defensive tackle Leshaun Minor verbally commits to Indiana

Indiana picked up its sixth verbal commitment of its 2017 class Monday evening as 2017 three-star in-state defensive tackle Leshaun Minor announced his commitment to the Hoosiers.

Indiana football's 2017 recruiting class is beginning to take shape and pickup steam, the latest addition coming from Indianapolis.

2017 three-star Indianapolis Ben Davis defensive tackle Leshaun Minor announced his verbal commitment to IU via his personal Twitter account Monday evening, becoming the sixth verbal commit of IU's 2017 class.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive tackle chose the Hoosiers over offers from Ball State, Illinois, Iowa State and Minnesota, among others. Minor is rated by Scout as the top defensive tackle in the state of Indiana.

With Minor's verbal commitment, five of the six players in the 2017 class come from the defensive side of the ball. He joins Avon (Ind.) linebacker Bryant Fitzgerald, Carmel (Ind.) defensive end Britt Beery, Florida linebacker Thomas Allen, Florida defensive end Tramar Reece and Florida offensive tackle Tyler Knight in the 2017 class.

Here's what Midwest Analyst Allen Trieu had to say about Minor:

"Leshaun is a very active, disruptive player. He was consistently making plays when I saw them play. He lived in the backfield. He's maybe a tad undersized but he's the kind of kid who has room to add weight. He's lean and I think he'll fit well in IU's scheme."
