Peegs.com team takes over Indiana site on Scout

Peegs.com, the long-time leader in Indiana sports coverage, has joined the Scout.com network.

Former Rivals publisher Mike Pegram and his Peegs.com team are now in control of the Indiana site on the Scout.com network.

"Joining forces with Scout.com enhances Peegs.com in so many areas and allows us to bring our members the most in-depth coverage of Indiana athletics," Pegram said. "The simple fact is Scout.com is the industry leader and has the most national-level analysts and reporters covering recruiting. It also has the right kind of culture and long term vision because it's run by people that were once publishers like ourselves.

"I think that's why you see our friends from the Colorado, Minnesota and Villanova team sites making a similar move this week."

The move to the Scout.com network is the next step in the ongoing effort to bring Hoosier fans the best coverage of IU athletics possible.

"We took our football coverage to a different level when we brought Matt Weaver on board, and Jeff Rabjohns later helped us transform our basketball content,” Pegram said. “More recently, Ken Bikoff has jump-started our multi-media experience with his podcasts and video work.

"Scout is going to help us continue to evolve and compete in the ever-changing online world. It starts with the national basketball analyst team of Evan Daniels, Brian Snow and Josh Gershon. They are totally unmatched by the competition. But we also feel that we're going to get a great boost to our football recruiting coverage. Scout's commitment there is impressive, especially in the Midwest, led by analyst Allen Trieu. On top of that there's a vision with video, fantasy and mobile that sets this network apart."

Scout.com executive vice president of Network Development at Scout, Joel Cox, is thrilled to have Peegs.com on-board.

"To say that I'm excited that Peegs.com is coming to Scout is an understatement," Cox said. "I've admired Mike and Jeff's work for years, and I am thrilled they are coming aboard. We take basketball and basketball recruiting very seriously at Scout, and the pairing of the Peegs team with Evan Daniels, Brian Snow and Josh Gershon will give IU fans unprecedented insight into the program. Not to be outdone, our football recruiting team is ready to work with Matt to bring the deepest football coverage in the market.

"Coming to Scout was not an easy decision for Mike and the team. Their thoughtfulness through the process is an indication of just how committed they were to making sure this was the best move for their subscribers."

As a site committed to both basketball and football coverage, Peegs.com will see an increase in recruiting analyst interaction on the premium message board.

"I couldn't be happier to have the industry leader in Indiana University coverage, Peegs.com, join the Scout Network," Snow said. "Mike Pegram is a longtime friend of mine dating back over a decade, and Jeff Rabjohns has proven to be one of the best in the country at covering recruiting and following a team. Combining the two, along with football writer Matt Weaver, has made Peegs.com one of the best sites on the internet dedicated to covering a specific school. Combining those three seasoned and well-respected writers with our national team of experts, we at Scout are thrilled to add to the already high level of coverage that Hoosiers fans have received."

Snow and Daniels will serve as the primary hoops recruiting experts along with Gershon's involvement with recruits on the West Coast.

"I'm really excited to have Peegs on Scout," Daniels said. "They are the authority on all things Indiana and will give Scout a serious presence in that market. Mike Pegram and Jeff Rabjohns are terrific journalists and cover IU as well as anyone I've seen."

Scout's football recruiting team is very strong in the Midwest and will be led by Midwest Recruiting Manager Allen Trieu.

"I am very happy to add Peegs and his crew to the Scout network," Trieu said. "I've always had great respect for them, especially Matt Weaver, who I ran into over and over again on the recruiting trail. Beyond just football recruiting, they have always offered comprehensive coverage of Hoosier sports from the hoops side over to the gridiron, and I look forward to working with them because of their work ethic, professionalism and passion for IU."

Mike Pegram and the Peegs.com team will serve as the Scout Indiana publisher effective immediately.
