Indiana offered a scholarship today to one of the top-30 prospects in the nation in the 2018 class.
IU coach Tom Crean extended an offer to Louis King, a 6-foot-8 versatile forward from Hudson Catholic in New Jersey and the Sport U AAU program.
King is ranked No. 27 nationally in the 2018 class by Scout.com.
King now has offers from Indiana, Syracuse, Connecticut, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Kansas and others. Villanova and others are also expressing interest.
Peegs.com watched King at the NBPA Top 100 camp in June and at the Under Armour Finals in Atlanta this past week.
King was very good at the Top 100 camp in June. He scored inside and outside, is very athletic, handles the ball and is very good in the pick and roll with the ball in his hands.
King was outstanding at the UA Finals in Atlanta in a game we saw this past week and certainly played in that game at a five-star level, making plays inside, outside, off the bounce and showing his athleticism.
In one game at the Top 100 camp, King had 14 points, shot 3-for-8 from 2, 2-for-3 from the arc with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
In another game, he had 12 points, shot 3-for-5 from 2, 2-for-4 from the arc to go with four rebounds, three assists and three turnovers.
In an earlier Top 100 camp game, King attacked the basket more, going 7-for-7 from the line, 2-for-5 from the field on all 2s, and had two rebounds, two assists and two turnovers.
King transferred to Hudson Catholic during this past season and sat out the final month after the transfer. He is expected to play for Hudson Catholic this season.
