2018 shooting guard Cormac Ryan of the Middlesex Magic AAU program was one of the players who had a big July and added scholarship offers.
One of those offers was from Indiana.
His coach, Mike Crotty, said the IU offer was big for him.
"I just spoke with him today, and he was thrilled," Crotty told Peegs. "The last two days brought offers from Northwestern and Indiana.
"Indiana basketball speaks for itself, and with coach Crean, you can look at how strong they are now. The history of the program, he's thrilled.
"It's a lot for a 17-year-old kid, but he's a mature kid. He's excited about it. He's looking forward to the opportunity to get to know coach Crean and the staff.
"They're just coming off three weeks of so many games, and to have the hard work pay off and see the benefits, I think he's really excited about it."
Ryan has made unofficial visits to Yale, Stanford and Harvard and has an unofficial visit set up to Michigan for August, Crotty said. Other unofficial visits probably will happen later, but those discussions haven't happened yet, his coach said.
