Indianapolis Southport 2017 guard Paul Scruggs has visits scheduled to five schools.

The four-star combo guard ranked No. 37 nationally in the 2017 class by scout.com has a tentative visit plan as follows, Indy Hoosiers AAU coach Mike Peterson tells peegs.com:

Indiana on Monday or Tuesday (unofficial)

Xavier Aug. 5-7 (official)

Michigan State weekend of Aug. 13 (official)

Connecticut weekend of Aug. 26 (official)

Illinois weekend of Sept. 3 (official)

“I think a decision could come as early as mid September,” Peterson said.

“These schools have recruiting Paul the hardest and they all seem to have a vision for Paul coming and making an impact. That’s one thing Paul wants to do, play early and have a chance to play at the next level.”

As for the plan for an unofficial visit and not official to Indiana, Peterson said:

“Indiana has been our most-visited school. We’ve seen everything. Now it’s time for a good heart-to-heart conversation about plans for Paul with him, myself and his parents so we’re on the same page if he attends Indiana.

“We plan on meeting with the whole staff, with the academic advisor as well as talking to some players like James Blackmon Jr.

“I’ve been in contact with James Blackmon Jr. He’s spoken of all the good things at Indiana for Paul and Kris (Wilkes) to come there, do good things, develop and get better.”
