Indiana 2017 recruiting target Jordan Tucker is transferring high schools and will join powerhouse Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga.
The four-star 6-foot-7 forward is transferring from Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, N.Y.
Tucker is ranked No. 79 in the Scout.com class of 2017 rankings.
“As a result of my family moving to Atlanta, GA I will be transferring from Stepinac & will attend Wheeler High School for my Senior Year!!!!” Tucker wrote on his Twitter account.
Tucker will be a key cog in what should be a powerhouse team.
Five-star 6-foot-9 power forward E.J. Montgomery, ranked No. 10 nationally in the 2017 class, is transferring from Montverde (Fla.) to Wheeler and four-star shooting guard Terry Armstrong, No. 19 nationally in 2019, is transferring from Carman-Ainsworth (Mich.) to Wheeler.
Wheeler, 22-6 last season, also has four-star point guard Darius Perry, ranked No. 76 in the 2017 class, and three-star 2017 6-foot-6 forward Jordan Usher. Perry is a Louisville commit.
Wheeler won state titles in 1994, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2009 and 2015. The school’s NBA players include Shareef Abdur-Rahim, J.J. Hickson and 2016 No. 3 draft pick Jaylen Brown.
As for Tucker’s recruitment, Louisville is the newest school to being pursuing him, according to this story from Scout.com's Jody Demling.
"They figured I was a done deal to Syracuse, but that's not the case,” Tucker told Demling. “I won't be making a decision until the new year or even next spring, so they have time to recruit me."
Tucker has made an unofficial visit to Indiana and told Peegs.com that IU will be one of the schools he official visits.
Arizona, Maryland, Syracuse, St. John’s and Villanova are among the other schools actively pursuing Tucker.
