Players suspended for Indiana football season opener

Indiana will be without six players for its season opener tonight at Florida International, including three projected starters in Ralph Green, Simmie Cobb and Chase Dutra.

Indiana will be without six players for its season opener tonight.

Senior defensive tackle Ralph Green, junior wide receiver Simmie Cobb, junior safety Chase Dutra, junior defensive back Noel Padmore and freshmen defensive back Jake Attar all are suspended for Indiana’s 2016 season opener, the school announced.

Sophomore defensive back Wesley Green is suspended indefinitely, IU said.

Green is part of an already thin defensive line. Dutra brings experience in the seconday and Cobb would have most likely been a starting receiver. All three are projected starters entering the season.

Dutra also missed time in camp with a foot injury.

They are suspended for "not living up to their responsibilities to the program at different times since the conclusion of the 2015 season," IU said in a statement.

IU plays Florida International at 7:30 tonight (ESPNU).
