Hatboro-Horsham (Pa.) 2017 forward Clifton Moore has asked for his release from his letter of intent to Indiana, he tells Peegs.com.
Colleges routinely grant releases in the event of a coaching change.
A 6-foot-10 small forward who can play on the inside and outside, Moore initially signed with Indiana on Oct. 2, 2016.
Indiana’s other 2017 signees, 6-foot-6 four-star forward Justin Smith of Lincolnshire (IL) Stevenson and 6-foot-4 guard Al Durham of Bermar (GA), are currently still signed but waiting to see what happens with Indiana’s coaching opening.
Indiana fired coach Tom Crean on Thursday.
“I originally came for Tom Crean and Chuck Martin,” Moore said. “I really like the bond that we formed and how they said they were going to use me, and I just felt like when they left, that was a big part of my reason to go there.”
Moore said he’s going to take a look and see what schools express interest.
“I don’t know right now what’s next,” he said. “I just want to take a step back. There isn’t any specific interest right now.”
