Here is what one NBA scout said about IU junior guard James Blackmon Jr.:

“James is a good shooter. He’s got to be a really, really good shooter to get away without playing good defense and not being a great ball handler.

“He’ll have to be a deadeye shooter off the catch and be able to create his own shot. Obviously the lack of size (listed at 6-foot-4) won’t play to his advantage as far as creating his own shot.

“He’s not a point guard. He’s not a combo guard. He’s an undersized two. He’s going to have to make his shots if he wants a chance.”
