Indiana in the top three for Miller

Indiana is one of the top three schools for Florida athlete Keondrae Miller.

Keondrae Miller has picked up several offers but there are three schools that are standing out above the rest. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete from St. Petersburg (FL) Admiral Farragut Academy spoke with about his recruiting and about his interest in the Hoosiers.

Miller said that the Hoosiers like him on the defensive side of the ball, but they like how he could also play offense in college.

I’ve been talking to Coach (Noah) Joseph,” he said. “They are recruiting me to play defense, but he said that he likes my versatility and how I can play on both sides of the ball. He thinks I would be a tremendous fit for the school and the program.”

The three-star recruit said he is looking for a school where he has a good connection to the coaching staff.

“I am looking for a program where I have good communication with the coaches,” Miller said. “It doesn’t matter how far away I go from home because I want to explore new things. Academically I want to major in either business or something in the medical field.”

Miller is from the same high school as current IU player Delroy Baker, and he has talked to the Hoosier lineman about being at Indiana.

“I know Delroy, who is up there right now,” Miller said. “I haven’t talked to him that much about the football program, but we have talked about the school. He said that he loves it there, and he could see me going there too. He also told me that if I wanted to make a trip up there to just let him know and he will make sure to take care of me.”

The talented prospect has also noticed how many current and future IU players are from his area of Florida, and he said that makes the Hoosiers a more attractive option for him.

“They have a pretty big shot with me, especially considering the fact that they have multiple players from this area going to Indiana,” Miller said. “I like how they have recruited a lot of Tampa players and players from my area, and because of that I wouldn’t feel out of place if I went there. I could see myself at Indiana.”

Miller said he plans on making a trip up to Bloomington this summer with a couple of his teammates to check out IU.

“There a couple other players on my team that Indiana is recruiting so I think we’re all going to take a trip up there this summer,” he said.

Miller currently has offers from Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Louisville, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Southern Miss, Toledo and Western Michigan. He said there are three schools that are on top for him.

“My top three schools are Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa State,” he said. “Right now, they’re all even until I take my unofficial visits.” Top Stories
