Five-star class of 2019 center James Wiseman will get plenty of Indiana attention again this weekend.
The 6-foot-10 center from Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tenn., and the Bradley Beal Elite AAU program was offered by IU coach Archie Miller this week.
Miller and his assistants watched Wiseman this past weekend in Hampton.
Wiseman is ranked No. 8 overall nationally in the 2019 class by Scout.com.
“They talked to me before I came down here,” Wiseman said in Hampton. I had a chance to talk to one of the assistant coaches, so that was fun.”
“They said they wanted to watch me. They said I’m very long. I can block shots, rebound and dribble. I’m a very versatile player for my size.
“They told me I would fit in their system, and I could come in and visit whenever I had a chance.”
Wiseman is an AAU teammate of five-star guard Darius Garland, who also has an Indiana offer.
Wiseman’s recruitment is just getting started.
He said he has been on campus at Tennessee and Vanderbilt so far.
He said he has offers from Indiana, Florida, Iowa State, Iowa and SMU and interest from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky and Duke.
Wiseman, who turned 16 on March 31st, said he was recently measured at 6-foot-10, 217 pounds.
He was asked if it would be tough getting him out of Tennessee. “No, it wouldn’t be tough. I don’t know yet. I don’t now what I’m going to do yet.”
Wiseman said Kentucky is one of the schools he wants to visit. “They’ve got a lot of good players coming in, P.J. Washington, Jarred Vanderbilt, Quade Green,” Wiseman said. “I want to see them play.”
