The tight end position is a high priority for Indiana in the 2018 recruiting class, and one of the top targets at that spot is T.J. Ivy. The IU staff got good news tonight as the three-star prospect announced his top four and the Hoosiers made the cut along with Illinois, Iowa and West Virginia.
The standout from Chicago Marist H.S. told Peegs.com earlier this month that Indiana has been one of his top choices for quite a while because of how hard they have been recruiting him.
"Indiana definitely stands very high on my list,” Ivy said in early May. “I definitely have a very strong bond with them. They have really been on me ever since I got that offer, and I have been staying in touch with them and they have been staying in touch with me. I talk to Coach (Tom) Allen and Coach (Mike) DeBord all the time. They are always checking in to see how things are so it’s going good with them. I am on a very personal level with Coach DeBord, and I am starting to get that way with Coach Allen.”
Ivy, who is ranked the 39th best tight end in the nation by Scout.com, currently has offers from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, West Virginia, Purdue, Rutgers, Iowa State, Syracuse, Cincinnati, UConn, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Florida, Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), New Mexico, Northern Illinois, Toledo, Tulane, Western Michigan, Wyoming and Illinois State.
