The Archie Miller era at Indiana will include a tough early road game for his first Hoosier team. Indiana and Gavitt Games officials confirmed earlier today that this year's eight games between the Big Ten and Big East will include an Indiana at Seton Hall game on November 15.
The game will be played in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will be televised by Fox Sports.
The two programs have met just three teams with Indiana holding a 2-1 record against the Pirates. Seton Hall won the most important battle, a Sweet Sixteen matchup in 1989, 78-65, in Denver, Colorado. The Pirates then went on that yard to finish as NCAA runner-up.
IU captured the next two matchups winning 78-74, in New York in the finals of the 1992 Preseason NIT and in Indianapolis, 83-69, in the 1998 NABC Classic.
This will be the second appearance by Indiana in the Gavitt Games. In November 2015 in a game played in Bloomington, Indiana defeated Creighton, 86-65. The Hoosiers did not participate last season. Seton Hall did play in the games last season, defeating Iowa in Iowa City a year, 91-83.
Seton Hall went on to earn a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
