One of the featured players in our most recent edition of the Inside the Locker Room is on the Indiana campus today. A source tells Peegs.com that four-star Michigan forward Brandon Johns is in Bloomington this afternoon.
Johns is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound prospect out of East Lansing High. He holds multiple Big Ten offers and recently came in at No. 100 in the new rankings update this past week for the Class of 2018 by Scout.com.
This visit is not a big surprise as Johns told us last month in Fort Wayne that such a trip was a main topic of his initial conversations with the Hoosier staff.
"We just starting talking about two days ago," Johnson said on May 6th. "I spoke to the new assistant coach, coach (Tom) Ostrom.
"We talked about how they really want to get me down on campus for a visit sometime soon and how well I could help the program."
The forward spoke to the advantages and disadvantages of being a stone's throw from the Michigan State campus.
"The pros would be that my family is always going to be there. I am pretty close to my family. The cons are that I have been there almost all my life, and staying I wouldn't get to experience anything else."
It was at that Bill Hensley Memorial Run 'N Slam event in Fort Wayne where Peegs.com had the chance to film Johns in a couple games for his Spiece Indy Heat team. That's the same team that features a pair of other Hoosier targets -- 2019 five-star forward Keion Brooks (Fort Wayne North Side) and rising 6-foot-10 senior Marcus Bingham (Grand Rapids Catholic Central).
Here are selected clips of Johns from the tournament. He wears jersey No. 23:
