Dan Kinsey Commits to Hoosiers

HoosierInsider.com spoke to Beaver Local High School's Coach Carr and he confirmed the Hoosiers have a new commit.

Beaver Local High School safety Dan Kinsey has committed to new Indiana Coach Terry Hoeppner to play football for the Hoosiers during his college career.

Dan was first team All-Ohio in football this year, as well as an alternate for the All-American Bowl. Kinsey was very well decorated this year, winning the Eastern District Defensive Player of the Year, Ohio-Frontliners first team, first team all-review player of the year. During his high school career, Kinsey was named all district twice, and all county and all area three times. A very decorated high-school career for an excellent athlete.

Kinsey will also be running track at Indiana. He's not too bad a track star either, being named a 3-time All American, 3-time state placer (discus, 110 high hurdles, long jump), and a 2 time national champion in the decathalon. In addition to this, he was a member of the 2003 World Youth Team.

Dan makes an excellent addition to the 2005 Indiana football program, and represents the type of midwest athlete that coach Terry Hoeppner looks to keep in the Hoosier program.
