GAME RECAP: Hoosiers Pummeled by Gophers
Indiana's tournament hopes were likely dashed today as they were pummeled by Minnesota 71-55. The Hoosiers came in the favorite but were outplayed in the 1st half and trailed at the break 34-28. Minnesota was hot from behind the arc early hitting 4 of their first 5 three point attempts. At 17:54 in the second half Minnesota's center Jeff Hagen went to the bench with four fouls , allowing Indiana's big men to pound their way back in the game and with 15:00 minutes left Indian trailed by one point 41-40, but it was all down hill from that point as Indiana's shooting was horrid. The poor shooting was led by Robert Vaden(2-13 from the field) and Bracey Wright(4-13). The Hoosiers as a team shot a measly 33% to Minnesota's 45%. Minnesota had 4 players in double figures, and is now expected to be off the bubble and into the NCCA tournament. The Hoosiers finished the season at 15-13, hoping for a bid to the NIT.
