Indianapolis, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers are looking for big guns for the future with the series of setbacks in the Class of 2006, and they have already begun looking at the class of 2007. One of the players the Hoosiers have their eyes on is 6'7", 250-pound center Jeremy Price from Decatur, Ga.
While at the Nike All-America Camp in Indianapolis, Ind. Price said he is looking right back at the Hoosiers.
"I like the Indiana coaches a lot," said Price. "They're very enthusiastic and easy to talk to. They've told me if I need anything I can talk to them and they'll talk me through it. I hope to visit the campus sometime soon."
Indiana will have to expect stiff competition for the class of 2007 prospect as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kansas and Virginia Tech have all shown interest as well.
"I don't really have a list put together yet," said Price. "I do have interest in Indiana and playing close to home is not a huge concern for me.
"I like Indiana, it's not too busy of a place, but it's busy when it comes to basketball. I have been getting mail from them and it's a school I'm looking at."
Price said he is yet to develop a list because he has not seen any campuses and has not developed any relationships with coaches that would sway his opinion this early. His main concern is the opportunity to play right away and develop his skills for a shot at playing professionally.
"Right now I'm not looking at certain schools or conferences because of prestige or coaches," said Price. "I'm looking for somewhere I can go and play right away."
While Price is going into his junior season at Columbia High School, he knows he has a lot of areas he needs to improve on before he can be a dominant college player, saying it was one of the main reasons he went to the Nike Camp.
"I'm working on my footwork, my jump shot and my face-up game on the block," said Price. "I think I have the defense right now and need to improve the other parts of my game. I feel like I'm not the best player here, but I can improve myself watching these other guys play and playing against them."
