Citing health issues, Mike Davis will not be appearing on his weekly radio show tonight and will instead have a pair of assistant coaches appear in his place.
IU Assistant Head Coach Donnie Marsh and IU Associate Head Coach Kerry Rupp will both be at Scotty's Brewhouse Monday night for the 7 p.m., hour-long show with IU basketball play-by-play announcer Don Fischer.
The decision was made this afternoon after practice.
Davis, who also missed Saturday's Indiana-Iowa basketball game with for health reasons, has been facing some heated criticism in recent weeks due to the Hoosiers' recent struggles. After getting off to a 10-2 start and being ranked No. 9 in the nation, Indiana has lost five of its last six games and has slipped to seventh in the Big Ten.
The Hoosiers' head coach stirred things up earlier in the day during the Big Ten weekly teleconference. Among other things, Davis suggested that Indiana needed to "hire one of its own" to coach the team, and sounded very much resigned to the fact that he won't be on the sidelines for a seventh season in 2006-07.
