BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana will open NCAA play Thursday at approximately 9:50 p.m. EST against San Diego State in Salt Lake City, IU announced Monday.
The Indiana-San Diego State game is slated to tip off 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Xavier-Gonzaga game, which is scheduled to begin at 5:20 p.m. local time (7:20 EST). The winner of the two games will meet on Saturday with the winner earning a trip to the Sweet 16 in Oakland, Cal.
Indiana (18-11) earned an at-large invitation and the No. 6 seed in the region, while San Diego State (24-8) earned an automatic berth as the winner of the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Steve Fisher-led Aztecs was won the MWC regular season crown.
