According to the Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette, IU wide receiver James Hardy appeared in court Monday to face charges he battered his girlfriend and their son.
According to the story, Hardy has been charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and interference with the reporting of a crime. Hardy was reportedly arrested in Ft. Wayne Friday and spent the weekend in jail before being released Monday on bond. During Monday's hearing in Allen Superior Court, a judge set his bond at $750 per charge, or $1,500.
A graduate of Ft. Wayne Elmhurst H.S., Hardy caught 61 passes for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns as a redshirt freshman last fall.
