Another coveted in-state recruiting target has opted to play his college basketball somewhere other than Indiana University.
Indianapolis Pike H.S. point guard Jeff Teague announced Friday that he'll play his college basketball at Wake Forest, picking the Demon Deacons over Indiana, Southern Illinois, Xavier and Boston College.
The 6-1, 170-pound Teague, who made the announcement at a press conference at Pike H.S. Friday afternoon, becomes the sixth top-100 in-state player to verbally commit somewhere other than IU. He joins Eric Gordon, who verbally pledged to Illinois last fall, and a quartet of Purdue bound players in E'twaun Moore, Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and Scott Martin on that list.
Scout.com's 53rd-ranked player nationally, Teague averaged 12.5 points, four assists and two steals as a junior at Pike.
HoosierNation.com will have more on Teague's decision, including comments from the press conference, later this afternoon.
