Dane Conwell, LB, Pittsburgh (Penn.) Upper St. Clair H.S. – Conwell's squad opened its season with a 27-9 win over Penn-Trafford H.S. Friday night. Conwell got Upper St. Clair going early, scoring on a 55-yard touchdown run as his squad opened a 14-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win.

Max Dedmond, TE, Evansville (Ind.) Central H.S. – Dedmond's Central H.S. squad, ranked fourth in Class 4A after last week's 22-13 win over Evansville Mater Dei, plays tonight at 7 p.m. against Evansville Harrison (1-1) at 7 p.m.

Matt Ernest, WR, Crown Point (Ind.) H.S. – Crown Point improved to 3-0 with a dominating defensive effort against Merrillville. Crown Point limited Merrillville to zero first down in the first half and 19 total yards in the opening half and cruised to a 17-2 victory. Ernest's stats were unavailable.

Sidney Glover, S, Warren G. Harding (Ohio) H.S. – Fresh off a 56-6 win over Cleveland JFK H.S. in its season opener, Harding faces a huge test tonight at 7:30 p.m. as it goes up against fifth-ranked Glenville H.S. at 7:30 p.m.

Darius Johnson, LB, Highland Park (Mich.) Community H.S. – Johnson saw limited action in Highland Park's 54-28 rout of Dearborn Heights Crestwood H.S. Thursday night, but still put up big numbers. Johnson carried the ball only five times, but amassed 136 yards and two touchdowns on those carries, including a 63-yard touchdown run. On defense, Johnson added seven tackles and three sacks as Highland Park improved to 2-0. Highland Park, which raced to a 48-13 halftime lead, piled up 403 yards on the ground in the win and recorded 16 sacks against Crestwood.

Tyler Replogle, LB, Centerville (Ohio) H.S. – Replogle's Centerville squad improved to 2-0 with its second straight rout, rolling past Princeton H.S. 62-9 in front of 5,000 fans Friday night. That win comes on the heels of a 42-8 win over Fairfield H.S. last week, meaning Centerville has outscored its first two foes by a combined 104-17. No statistics were available for Friday night's encounter, but in Repogle's opener against Fairfield the IU-bound recruit recorded a team-high 13 tackles, including seven solo stops, and one sack.

Zach Walker, RB, Plantation (Fla.) H.S. – Plantation's match-up with Stranahan H.S. Thursday night was postponed due to lightning. Plantation had jumped to a 6-0 lead less than four minutes into the first quarter when the game was stopped. The teams hoped to reschedule the contest for Saturday morning (Sept. 2). Top Stories
