Dane Conwell, LB, Pittsburgh (Penn.) Upper St. Clair H.S. – Conwell's squad improved to 2-0 with a 37-13 win over Fox Chapel. Conwell did a little bit of everything in the win – offensively he rushed for 85 yards on 13 carries while also hauling in a 59-yard touchdown pass, and on defense he had a 48-yard fumble return for a touchdown to lead Upper St. Clair, which is ranked second in the state.
Max Dedmond, TE, Evansville (Ind.) Central H.S. – Dedmond scored on runs of five and 36 yards to help Evansville Central (4-0) to a 63-0 romp over Evansville Bosse. Central is ranked No. 3 in 4A and has a huge game next weekend when it squares off with the state's seventh-ranked team in 5A, Evansville Reitz.
Matt Ernest, WR, Crown Point (Ind.) H.S. – After catching just one ball in Crown Point's win a week ago, Ernest bounced back with his biggest game of the season, catching eight passes for 186 yards and touchdown to help Crown Point (4-0) to a 31-14 win over Lake Central. Ernest was the favorite target of Crown Point QB Blake Mascarello, who completed 12-of-19 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown.
Sidney Glover, S, Warren G. Harding (Ohio) H.S. – Harding has a Saturday night match-up, facing the state's 15th-ranked team, Buchtel H.S., this evening. Last weekend Harding (1-1) was whipped by Glenville H.S. 41-7.
Darius Johnson, LB, Highland Park (Mich.) Community H.S. – It was a third straight rout for Highland Park, which clobbered Garden City H.S. 47-0 Friday night. No statistics were available.
Tyler Replogle, LB, Centerville (Ohio) H.S. - After routing its first two opponents by a combined 104-17 score, Centerville dropped its first game of the season Friday night, falling at home to Northmont 42-30 in front of 10,500 fans. In a match-up of the state's top two ranked teams in Division I according to the Dayton Daily News, Centerville's triple-option attack produced 369 rushing yards, but that wasn't enough to overcome Northmont's 268 passing yards in the contest. No stats for Replogle were available.
Zach Walker, RB, Plantation (Fla.) H.S. – The St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. defense bottled up Walker, limiting him to 31 yards on 20 carries in a 17-10 win over Walker's Plantation H.S. team Thursday. Walker scored on a three-yard touchdown run the third quarter, but Plantation H.S. wasn't able to overcome a 17-0 halftime deficit.
