Dane Conwell, LB, Pittsburgh (Penn.) Upper St. Clair H.S. – Upper St. Clair kept its hopes of an unbeaten regular season in tact with a 28-14 win over fifth-ranked and defending PIAA champion McKeesport Friday. With the win, Upper St. Clair improved to 8-0. Conwell was a big part of the win, carrying 24 times for 98 yards and a touchdown.
Max Dedmond, TE, Evansville (Ind.) Central H.S. – Dedmond scored on an eight-yard pass and a one-yard run as Evansville Central improved to 10-0 with a 62-13 romp over Floyd Central in its sectional opener. Central quarterback completed 11-of-16 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns despite leaving the game early in the third quarter after Central had blown the game open. Central will face 7-3 Jasper next weekend.
Matt Ernest, WR, Crown Point (Ind.) H.S. – Ernest caught one of quarterback Blake Mascarello's three first-half touchdown throws to help No. 1 ranked Crown Point (10-0) knock off Lake Central 49-0 in a first-round sectional game. It was Crown Point's 21st win in its last 22 games dating back to last season. Crown Point will play Portage (6-4) next weekend.
Sidney Glover, S, Warren G. Harding (Ohio) H.S. – Harding improved to 7-2 with a 28-6 win over Youngstown Rayen. Harding has been on a roll as of late, having beaten then top-ranked St. Ignatius two weeks ago, 17-7, and Massillon 21-16 last week.
Darius Johnson, LB, Highland Park (Mich.) Community H.S. – Darius Johnson ran 20 times for 154 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn't enough as Highland Park fell to Howell, 14-12. It was Highland Park's first loss of the season, dropping them to 8-1. Johnson now has 1,184 yards on 107 carries this season, or better than 11 yards per carry. Johnson had a huge game a week ago in a 41-7 win over Thurston, carrying eight times for 242 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown.
Tyler Replogle, LB, Centerville (Ohio) H.S. - Centerville won its fourth in a row to improve to 7-2 with a 76-6 win over Springfield South. No game statistics were available.
Teddy Schell, QB, Barrington (Ill.) H.S. – Barrington hadn't beaten Conant H.S. in seven years, but they did so in a big way Friday. Schell completed 16-of-18 passes for 257 yards to lead Barrington to a 42-7 win over Conant (6-3). Barrington improved to 7-2 with the win.
Zach Walker, RB, Plantation (Fla.) H.S. - Walker's Plantation team slipped to 1-5 on the year with a 28-12 loss to Deerfield Beach Thursday night. Plantation lost six fumbles in the game. No other stats were available.
